Rod Skipp

Rod is a New Zealand born cellist currently based in Manchester. He began his studies at The University of Auckland, graduating with a Bachelor of Music with first class honours. After moving to the UK to further his studies, he graduated with distinction from the Master of Music programme at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

Roderick currently freelances around the North West, combining education work as cello tutor on the In Harmony project in Liverpool, with chamber music and orchestral work. He has performed with the Orchestra of Opera North, Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera, Ensemble 10/10, the British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Darwin Ensemble Chamber Orchestra and is Principal cello of Skipton Camerata. Rod has also performed on radio and television, including Songs of Praise and the X Factor.
